With eight stores scattered around Melbourne – from Moonee Ponds to Cheltenham – Hecho En Mexico (@hecho_en_mexico_australia) is like that one friend you can always count on. Their food menu is flexible enough to be enjoyed by carnivores and herbivores alike, and their drinks menu is extensive.
Recently, Hecho En Mexico have launched their very own boozy bottomless brunch…and of course the Gay’s Guide team had to go along to see what all the fuss is about.
Every Saturday and Sunday – for only $70 per person – you can enjoy an hour and a half of bottomless food and drink. The options, however, vary slightly from store to store.
For example, if you book a bottomless at Hecho’s Fitzroy store (you know, the one on Brunswick Street), you’ll enjoy bottomless margaritas and tacos for the entirety of your booking. As always, their margs have just the right amount of sweet and sour and salty. And their tacos – of which there are seven to choose – will have you wishing you could fit *just* one more (…but believe me, you can’t fit one more. I tried. And failed).
At their other stores (Brighton, Carnegie, Heidelberg, Moonee Ponds, South Yarra, Warrnambool and Yarraville), however, you’ll be treated to a four-course set menu, including totopos, chicken taquitos, and beef tacos. For the vegans among us, you’ll be treated to cauliflower ceviche and Hecho’s vegan tacos.
Of course, the four-course set menu also includes bottomless booze. And at the remaining locations, you can choose from margaritas, sangria, rosé osé and beer.
Our Verdict: The Gay’s Guide team could not get enough of the Fitzroy store’s bottomless brunch. The margs were flowing (possibly a little too?) freely, and the tacos were gone before you could say “uno más, per favore”. And we’d bet a whole lot of money that the set menu at Hecho’s other stores are just as incredible.
