Looking for a Queer friendly watering hole to have a few drinks and dance the night away? A place you can grab some delicious grub while watching sickening performances by Brisbane’s best drag/queer performers? Perhaps a place for chill after work drinks? If that sounds like something you’re looking for, The Wickham Hotel is the place to be.

The iconic queer venue, which was established in 1985, has been a been a shining beacon of pride and has been a safe refuge for queer folks for decades. The relaxed beer garden and nightclub lies on the edge of the Fortitude Valley, aka Brisbane’s vibrant clubbing precinct, aka the place I’ve made many… #choices. The heritage listed venue has a laid back and welcoming atmosphere, where you can let your hair down, have a good time and be yourself.

Sit back and sip on some delicious cocktails made by the friendly bar staff, while you nibble on the delicious goodies they have on offer (trust me, they have many), all while watching a show that will either have you up and dancing, laughing or screaming “YASSSSS MAMA YOU BETTER WERK.”

The venue has a lot on offer, boasting food and drink from the Container Kitchen, The Garden Bar and The Corner bar, you won’t ever be empty handed or empty bellied ever again. As for entertainment, there are always new events and shows being showcased weekly, so make sure you keep an eye on their website.
