AN INDULGING, TREAT-YOURSELF RECIPE FROM BAILEYS

Ah, the humble hot chocolate.

There truly is nothing that comes closer to a warm hug than a mug of this wintry hot chocolate delight!

Dare we say, that the only thing that could make this timeless classic any more indulgent, would be a luscious coming together of the classic hot chocolate and the iconic Baileys Irish cream liqueur?

Well if so, indulge on hun, because we’re about to teach you how to make this beveragino equivalent power-couple all for yourself…and your bestest Judie too, of course!

INGREDIENTS (SERVES TWO)

• 100ml Baileys Original Irish Cream

• 2-4 Teaspoons light brown sugar (to taste)

• 80g Chocolate finely chopped

• 2 Espresso shots (50ml each)

• 200ml Cream whipped with 1-2 teaspoons   of espresso/instant coffee powder

• 2 Large chocolate chunks, chocolate sprinkles, coffee beans and chopped chocolates (to decorate)

THIS RECIPE CONTAINS ALCOHOL.

METHOD

This recipe is one of the more involved recipes that we’ve shared with you, but with all of your experience (and not to mention expertise), we’re more than sure that you can handle the (hot choc) heat.

To begin, bring 400ml of water to the boil. To this, add 2-4 teaspoons of light brown sugar and mix. Once the sugar and water have combined, turn the heat down to a simmer for 2 minutes.

Next, add the chocolate and mix with a whisk until silky smooth. Again, turn down the heat slightly and simmer for another 2 minutes (pro tip: use this time to give yourself 5 compliments, you deserve ’em babe).

Then, take the mixture off the heat and divide evenly between two mugs. To each mug, add the espresso and Baileys before topping it off with coffee whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate toppings, and boom, you’re all done hun!
