So, you’re gay, tipsy, in Brisbane for the weekend, and looking for fun (that isn’t the Grindr kind), then The Beat Megaclub is the place to be… And unlike your last hookup, this place really is as mega as it says it is.

The Beat boasts 7 bars, 6 beer gardens, 5 clubs and even its very own cafeteria (weird concept, I know. But you’ll get used to it). Every room has its own vibe and music style, from the pop bangers by Ari and Madonna blasting upstairs at Cockatoo Club, to the dance anthems and illuminated dance floor of Crystals, to the relaxed RnB spinning downstairs at Wreckers and almost everything in between. There is no shortage of places to pop it, lock it and (if your knees allow) drop it.

The Beat Megaclub - Brisbane's best gay barsDrag shows take place every Friday and Saturday night, and these queens will have you screaming before you can say ‘shantay you gay‘.

The Beat welcomes all; the crowd ranges from young guys to old timers, all friends of Dorothy and anyone who just enjoys a good ol’ cocktail…or six.

Speaking of drinks, both the bar lines and prices are reasonable. Happy hour kicks off at 10pm and ends at 11pm, giving you an entire hour to down enough drinks to make you forget that you have work on Monday morning.

Pro Tip: Arrive at around 10:30pm – it’ll get you there before the door line gets too long and gives you just enough time to secure those happy hour drinks.

There is an entry fee of $14, but if you’re on a budget, entry is free before 10pm on Fridays.

If you’re looking for the best gay clubs in Brisbane, you’re looking for the Beat Megaclub.
